This standard provides the format and establishes the data contents of the Reservation (Booking Request) (Ocean) Transaction Set within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. This transaction set is used by a shipper or a forwarder to reserve space, containers and equipment for transport by ocean vessel.
To indicate the start of a transaction set and to assign a control number
To transmit identifying numbers, dates and other basic data relating to the transaction set
