This standard provides the format and establishes the data contents of the warehouse shipping advice transaction set. This transaction set is initiated by the warehouse to advise the depositor that shipment was made. It is used to reconcile order quantities with shipment quantities.
To indicate the start of a transaction set and to assign a control number
To provide identifying numbers and date
To identify a party by type of organization, name and code
To specify additional names or those longer than 35 characters in length
To specify the location of the named party
To specify the geographic place of the named party
To transmit identifying numbers and descriptive information as specified by the reference number qualifier
To identify a person or office to whom communications should be directed
To specify pertinent dates and times
To transmit information in a free-form format, if necessary, for comment or special instruction
To specify details of the transportation equipment and carrier routing details
To transmit freight consolidation information
To transmit shipping information and requirements
To designate those line items that were shipped
To describe an item in free-form format

To provide totals relating to the shipment
