This Draft Standard for Trial Use contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Railroad Reciprocal Switch File Transaction Set (433) for use in an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. The transaction set can be used to provide electronic updates for the reciprocal switch status (open, closed or conditionally open) of railroad customers.
To indicate the start of a transaction set and to assign a control number
To indicate the beginning of a transaction set.
To identify a party by type of organization, name and code
To specify additional names or those longer than 35 characters in length
To specify the location of the named party
To specify the geographic place of the named party
To identify the specific railroad carrier codes associated with the station
To identify the specific station that indicates the switching district for a given railroad terminal or the specific station used to identify a geographical location as a rate base location
To specify the geographic place of the named party
To communicate basis of pricing, such as contract number, quote number, or tariff number
To specify condition restrictions or provisions applicable to the rate docket.
To convey the Standard Transportation Commodity Code (STCC) and associated descriptions
To transmit the identifying SCAC code and effective date for the data in the transaction set

To indicate the end of the transaction set and provide the count of the transmitted segments (including the beginning (ST) and ending (SE) segments).
