This Draft Standard for Trial Use contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Ratemaking Action Transaction Set (485) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. The transaction set can be used to transmit ratemaking activities related to concurrence, factor change, publisher change, or proposal rejection or trace.
To indicate the start of a transaction set and to assign a control number
To assign an identification to a docket.

To identify a carrier and person taking action or making changes
To indicate the docket sub-level
To indicate a route code and other codes which define the use of the RB and FK segments which follow.
To explain the route and indicate individual carrier divisions or factors.
To transmit codes, descriptions and values for miscellaneous or accessorial charges associated with rail rate data.
To explain the route and indicate individual carrier divisions or factors.
To transmit codes, descriptions and values for switching performed.
To indicate the end of the transaction set and provide the count of the transmitted segments (including the beginning (ST) and ending (SE) segments).
