This Draft Standard for Trial Use contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Railroad Parameter Trace Registration Transaction Set (455) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. The transaction set can be used by a freight carrier to: (1) request the establishment of a set of parameters used to select movement activity from a central data store over time; (2) request information about past activities within a date range that meets a set of parameters; and (3) request the establishment of a set of parameters for subsequent use on demand.
To indicate the start of a transaction set and to assign a control number
To provide basic information regarding the parameter trace conditions described
To specify any or all of a date, a time, or a time period
To provide basic trace parameters
To identify further the referenced equipment
To transmit the identifying SCAC code and effective date for the data in the transaction set
To transmit identifying information as specified by the Reference Identification Qualifier
To specify information about a specific event
To indicate the end of the transaction set and provide the count of the transmitted segments (including the beginning (ST) and ending (SE) segments)
