This Draft Standard for Trial Use contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Claim Status Report and Tracer Reply Transaction Set (926) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. The transaction set can be used by a carrier to report the status of a claim to the claimant or to reply to a claim tracer from the claimant.
To indicate the start of a transaction set and to assign a control number
To identify a loss or damage claim and to indicate its status
To identify the specific reasons why individual line items of a claim or part of a claim are rejected
To uniquely identify a transaction to an application
To transmit check number and amount information associated with a remittance
To indicate the end of the transaction set and provide the count of the transmitted segments (including the beginning (ST) and ending (SE) segments)
