This Draft Standard for Trial Use contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Carrier Interchange Agreement (Ocean) Transaction Set (361) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. The transaction set can be used to provide all the information necessary for an ocean carrier to tell a terminal operator if motor carriers are authorized to carry its cargo.
To indicate the start of a transaction set and to assign a control number
To identify a party by type of organization, name, and code
To identify motor carriers and the status of their interchange agreements
To transmit information in a free-form format for comment or special instruction
To indicate the end of the transaction set and provide the count of the transmitted segments (including the beginning (ST) and ending (SE) segments)
